What Happens After You Report a Profile
A behind-the-scenes look at how our moderation team reviews reports.
Step 1: It lands in the moderation queue
Every submitted report appears in our admin team's Pet Reports queue, showing the reported pet, the reason selected, and any details you added.
Step 2: An admin reviews it
An admin looks at the actual profile alongside your report and decides between two outcomes:
| Outcome | What it means |
|---|---|
| Dismissed | No action needed — the profile didn't violate anything after review. |
| Actioned | Our team took action — anything from editing content to a billing status change on the account, depending on severity. |
Step 3: The pet's owner may be notified
If a report against one of your pets is marked Actioned, you'll get a notification letting you know our team took action — see Notifications. Dismissed reports don't generate a notification, since there's nothing for you to act on.
Frequently asked questions
How long does review typically take?
There's no fixed SLA published, but reports are reviewed as part of regular admin operations — not left indefinitely.
What if I disagree with the outcome on my own pet's report?
Reach out to help@xkd.org to discuss it directly.
Can a report result in my account being suspended?
In serious cases, yes — moderation action can include billing status changes like Suspended, in line with our Community Guidelines and Content Moderation Policy.
Is there an appeals process?
Contact support directly — cases are handled individually rather than through an automated appeals system.
