Content Moderation Policy
How we decide what stays up, what comes down, and why.
Two layers of moderation
| Layer | How it works |
|---|---|
| Automated (messages only) | A banned-word filter rejects certain language and scam patterns before a message is ever delivered. See Messaging Other Owners. |
| Human review (profiles) | Reported public pet profiles are reviewed individually by an admin — there's no automated takedown of profile content. |
How a profile report is reviewed
An admin looks at the reported content alongside the reason given and decides between dismissing the report or taking action — see What Happens After You Report a Profile for the full flow.
Possible outcomes
- No action — the report is dismissed if the content doesn't actually violate anything
- Content correction — an admin may edit or remove specific content
- Account-level action — for serious or repeated violations, the account's billing status may move to Suspended or Deactivated
Transparency and appeals
If action is taken on your pet's profile, you'll receive a notification. If you disagree with the outcome, contact help@xkd.org to discuss it directly with our team.
Every moderation decision — dismissal or action — is permanently recorded in our internal Admin Activity Log for accountability.
