The Public Cert Lookup Tool

Anyone — no account required — can confirm whether an XKD number is real and active.

Where to find it

It's the XKD.org homepage itself. Anyone can go there and enter an XKD number to check it, whether they have an account or not.

What the lookup shows

Just two things: whether the number represents an active, certified account, and the year certification began. That's it.

Lookup responses deliberately exclude names, contact information, account roles, and pet records — it's designed to confirm legitimacy without exposing anyone's personal information.

Why this tool exists

It gives a fast, no-login way for anyone — a potential adopter, a vet, a curious stranger who found a lost pet flyer — to sanity-check that an XKD number on a certificate or flyer is real, without needing to create an account or dig through a pet's full profile.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my own XKD number to test this?
It's shown on your Profile page, and also appears on every certificate, flyer, and public pet profile tied to your account.

What if I enter a number that doesn't exist?
You'll see a clear "not found" style result rather than any error — it's designed to handle typos and invalid numbers gracefully.

Is there a limit to how many lookups I can do?
The tool is rate-limited to prevent automated abuse, but normal manual use — checking a handful of numbers — won't run into that limit.

Can this tool be used to find a pet's public profile?
No — it only confirms the owner's certification status, it doesn't link out to or reveal any specific pet's profile.
